What is Patreon?

Patreon is a platform that lets you directly support the creators you love through a monthly or annual subscription. In return, you get access to exclusive content and resources to help you improve your French. It’s the simplest way to support the podcast, and to keep learning with us, consistently.

What are the exclusive episodes like?

Exclusive episodes are just as engaging as our public ones. We dive into a topic with one main goal: more exposure to natural French. A few examples: tipping in France, why France dominates biathlon, our trip to Iran, how to make real progress in French on your own, why I left journalism (and what it taught me)…

And from day one, you get access to our entire archive: dozens of hours of content, all with their transcripts.

How do I listen to the exclusive episodes?

Exactly the same way you already listen to the podcast, on your favourite app, in the same feed. No new app, no extra account. We stay in your pocket, and you listen whenever you want, wherever you are.

How often do new episodes come out?

We release 2 public episodes per month, plus 2 exclusive episodes for our Patreon members. On the higher tiers, that means a new episode every week, along with all the accompanying resources. A rhythm designed to fit easily into your daily life: consistent enough to keep you progressing, without overwhelming you.

Where do I find the transcripts and activity sheets?

As soon as you sign up on Patreon, you’ll receive an email with everything you need. All documents are available as weekly PDF downloads, and you have access to the full back catalogue too. You can also follow along with an interactive transcript on your computer or phone: words highlight as we speak. And if you ever have a question, we’re right there on Patreon.

Why did the transcripts become paid?

Simply put: to keep making this podcast properly. Your support allows us to:

Produce high-quality free content
Develop new formats
Fairly compensate the work that goes into all of it

And honestly? We also believe that real progress in a foreign language deserves a real investment, even a modest one.

How do I avoid paying too much for my subscription?

If you subscribe through the iPhone or iPad app, Apple adds extra charges (around 30%). This is an Apple thing only. Android users, no worries.

Here’s the simple fix: Subscribe through a web browser (Safari, Chrome…) on your phone or computer. Then log in normally on the app: same access, no extra cost.

Can I cancel easily?

No commitment: you can cancel whenever you want. And if you’d like to try before you commit, you can test it free for 7 days. No risk.

What’s the difference with a course?

A course is usually structured around a specific goal: a level to reach, a skill to acquire, a programme to follow step by step. Our membership works differently. It’s ongoing training, regular exposure to real French: natural conversations, varied topics, and tools to understand what you hear. The goal isn’t to “finish” something. It’s to build a genuine listening habit and a real feel for living French.

Is the content right for my level?

French With Panache is for intermediate to advanced learners (B1–C1). Whatever your level, our resources are here to make sure you always understand, and always progress.
